The Family Peace Education group is an active working committee of the Houston Peace and Justice Center. Members are committed to teaching non violent alternatives to problems. Dealing with anger, stress, bullies, and racism are some of the areas in which the group focuses their efforts. Reading books, field trips, community gardening, preparing food for the homeless, and programs featuring activist guests are some of the positive activities the group plans.
The Peace Club meets on the second and fourth Sunday of every month at the Mennonite Church, 1231 Wirt Rd. from 4:00-6:00. This is for ages 5 and older. The Houston Peace Camp has tentatively planned 5 weeks of day camp for the summer of 2016. These will be at various locations which will soon be finalized. Developing inner peace, resolving conflicts fairly, and working for equality and justice for everyone are the ongoing goals of these pacifists.
