The Houston Youth Voters Conference (HYVC) is a student-led, nonpartisan collaboration between Campus Vote Project, Rice University, University of Houston, and Houston area high schools with a mission to enact change in and around Houston by increasing youth voter registration, engagement, education, and turnout. Overall, the goals of HYVC are to increase youth civic education and participation, uplift marginalized communities, empower student activists, and inspire our generation to get out the vote.
You are invited to attend this event. Please see below for event details, and help us spread the word about HYVC!
- Date: Saturday, October 1, 2022
- Time: 9 AM to 4 PM CT
- Location: University of Houston-Downtown, Academic Building (315 N Main St, Houston, TX 77002)
The summit will feature an organizations fair, a keynote speech, a civic leaders panel, an event planning workshop, an educational presentation, two catered meals (breakfast and lunch), and an interactive Constitutional Convention followed by a Shark Tank-style presentation of a resolution outlining the needs and priorities of Houston-area youth in the context of youth civic engagement.
