Ann Carrigan and Juliet Weber have produced a new documentary on the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero.  They have used rare recordings and film footage from Romero’s own collection and a wide range of interviews from those whose lives were changed by the Archbishop. 

We will discuss the film and remember all those who have died in El Salvador.

We invite you to join the Houston Peace & Justice Center as we honor Bryan Stevenson.

Enjoy dinner with Bryan Stevenson, HPJC's Awards Dinner Keynote Speaker and our 10th National Peacemaker Award Recipient. He is the founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative, a private, non-profit organization headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama. He is a professor at New York University School of law and has gained national acclaim for his work challenging bias against the poor and people of color in the criminal justice system. 

Stevenson has assisted in securing relief for dozens of condemned prisoners, advocated for poor people and developed community-based reform litigation aimed at improving the administration of criminal justice.
