HPJC is bringing Roy Zimmerman, master satirist, songwriter, and performer, to town in a benefit to raise funds for Houston's Peace Camp.

In 13 albums over 20 years, Roy has brought the sting of satire and parody to the struggle for peace and social justice.

The Houston Committee for Youth and Non-Military Opportunities is hosting a "Sock Hop" fun raiser 8 p.m.Saturday, June 16, Live Oak Friends Meeting 1318 W 26th St.

HCYNO is a non-profit corporation that provides to high school students information on the realities of military recruitment and alternatives to the military for jobs and education.

Join us at the Houston Community College Central Campus to participate in its International Day of Peace-Showcase. The event is planned for September 21, 2011 from 10:30am-12:00noon in the Learning Hub Science Building in Room 100 at 1300-B Holman Street.

This will be an opportunity for the college community to learn about the different ways to promote peace. It will also provide an opportunity to create awareness of local community base organizations in the City of Houston that help create a culture of peace.
